The thermal flow meters from the FTMg Series have already proven themselves as cost-effective multitalents for the measurement of gas flow, temperature and process pressure. Whereas they were previously available in versions for pipe diameters up to DIN30, with the new DIN40 and DIN50 versions, SICK brings more applications within reach. Thus, the new sensors are also suitable for main distribution lines of compressed air systems. In addition to the machine level, consumption can also be measured at the plant level.
Compressed air is among the most expensive forms of energy. Leakage-free operation is therefore essential. The thermal flow sensor FTMg stands for efficient energy management in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001. It helps identify leaks in compressed air systems so that the necessary maintenance can be done. Internal data logging over a seven-day period and integrated statistical evaluation help detect even the smallest leaks.
With high measurement dynamics and low pressure drop, FTMg series sensors are not only suitable for compressed air consumption measurements, but also for the detection of non-corrosive gases such as argon, helium, carbon dioxide and nitrogen.
In terms of installation and commissioning, it is plug and play with the FTMg. The high-contrast color display ensures intuitive operation and can be rotated by 90°, which means that measured values can always be read comfortably, regardless of the installation position of the sensor in the pipeline. The display supports the representation of different measured value in a graph. All measurement data can be transmitted via IO-Link or with switching and analog signals.
