New benchmarks for mechatronic gripping

The same applies to the smart gripper series EGU and EGK shown at the fair. They set new standards in terms of flexibility, interface diversity and process reliability. The grippers offer different gripping modes for different handling tasks. A new common electronics and software platform makes this smart functionality possible. As existing gripping modes are continuously optimized and supplemented, customers will continue to benefit from future-proof improvements via software updates.

The EGK small parts gripper is excellent for handling filigree and fragile workpieces, making it ideal for challenging applications in the laboratory industry or electronics manufacturing. For its part, the universal EGU gripper is a reliable all-rounder for all handling tasks. It comes into its own fully, especially when flexibly loading and unloading machine tools.

Easy access to smart handling

SCHUNK has developed the user-friendly 2D grasping kit to handle individual, randomly arranged objects on one level, making it much easier to get started with automatic object handling. At the heart of this smart system is the in-house developed AI software, pre-installed on SCHUNK's own industrial PC (SVC). Since its market launch, the automation expert has further optimized the software and simplified the learning and labeling of components. This fully coordinated package of hardware, software and service comes from one source and can be used for all robots.
