Thinner, more stable and better performance: SCHUNK has further developed its VERO-S NSA plus palletizing module specifically for automatic loading of machine tools and upgraded it to the new NSA3 generation. The clamping module in stainless steel is part of the comprehensive SCHUNK modular VERO-S system for efficient workpiece clamping. The NSA3 is 100% compatible with the previous model.
The pneumatic palletizing module from SCHUNK has become an indispensable tool in the interaction between processing machine and robotic loading. It allows pallets to be attached to a machine table in seconds and with the highest precision. The low overall height of the modules allows maximum utilization of the working space. An integrated pallet lifting function enables process-safe changing via robot, especially with heavy pallets.
In this latest generation, SCHUNK has optimized the maintenance-free, robust module, especially with unmanned production in mind. The height of the new, more compact NSA3 has been further reduced. The special shape of the module prevents chip formation or accumulation of cooling lubricant. In addition, the integrated cleaning function has been improved. In addition to the flat contact surface, an even more powerful blow-off function now keeps the short cone and clamping slides free of chips. This and the additional monitoring of the flat contact surfaces using dynamic pressure enable smooth operation 24 hours a day.
The modules are clamped by spring force without external energy supply, are positively locking and self-locking, so that the full retraction force is maintained even during a pressure drop. The force is 3,000 N and can be increased to a remarkable 10,000 N when the turbo function is activated. The improved dimensional stability of the module housing ensures that higher tilting moments and transverse forces can be reliably absorbed. Clamped pallets can be placed on the NSA3 modules within seconds with a round-trip accuracy of < 0.005 mm. This is guaranteed by the high-precision short taper concentration and, depending on the application, the modules can be combined in any quantity.
All monitoring operations such as "module open" or "module closed" are integrated into the NSA3 as standard for process-reliable pallet switching. The clamping rings rest on four flat surfaces on the outer diameter, which is monitored by dynamic pressure monitoring. Thanks to the hermetic seal and stainless steel design, the module remains maintenance-free throughout its service life.
The VERO-S pallet quick-change modules form the basis of the comprehensive modular SCHUNK clamping technology system for automatic loading of machines. In combination with the clamping devices and robotic modules, a wide range of clamping options can be flexibly realized with short setup times.
