Tabletop centrifuges for scientific and medical applications need to be very compact. Low noise, low energy consumption and a high level of performance are the minimum requirements for this system.
Groschopp has been developing customer-specific centrifuge motors with these specific properties for years. Core of the centrifuge process is the separation of suspensions by high rotational speed. 26,000 rpm is very common in centrifuges. In the process, the temperature must not rise too much to prevent damage to sensitive elements.
Groschopp achieves this by designing special windings specifically for these applications.

Furthermore, it is very important to prevent vibrations and vibration. Through years of experience which Groschopp has built up in this industry, customers know where to find her. This includes the manufacturer of a so-called "Mikroliter-zentrifuge" which is used in the medical industry.
A brushless DC motor is used here that is equipped with Hall sensors for motor control. At the customer's request, an electronic detector for imbalance was also fitted on the PCB.
Drive requirements included: speed 14,000 rpm, power 140W and maximum motor length 120mm. Eventually it turned out that under stated requirements the optimum voltage was 48V.
