German company Koch introduces the scalable, active energy management system Pxt TX as a short-term UPS for electric drives. The device is particularly suitable for the textile and wood processing industries. The closed housing protects against the module from airborne dust particles. With passive cooling, there is almost no chance of dust accumulating inside the device.
Koch's Pxt series is a scalable, active extension of the DC link capacity of frequency converters and servo controllers. It is manufacturer-independent and plug-and-play compatible with most controller brands.
With a current capacity of 5 A continuous and 40 A peak, the unit can generate up to 18 kW. The Pxt TX can be supplied as standard with an energy storage capacity of 2 to 4 kJ.
For integration into a fieldbus network, the Pxt MX plug-in module can be added to the Pxt TX, which can provide additional information. If the application requires more energy, Pxt EX extension modules are available with either 2, 4 or 6 kJ of additional storage capacity. Again, these are plug-and-play.
