Hannover Messe 2025: leading industry fair focuses on AI and sustainable innovations

Hannover Messe, the world's largest industry trade fair, will return from March 31 to April 4, 2025. Under the slogan "Industrial Transformation - Energizing a Sustainable Industry," more than 4,000 companies from mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, digital industry and the energy sector will present their latest innovations in industrial transformation in Hannover, Germany.

Main themes and innovations.

Anyone who wants to get a good idea of the latest technological trends and developments for industry cannot ignore Hannover Messe. The fair (which attracts more than 100,000 visitors annually) offers a sample of the very latest industrial innovations that provide answers to the big questions of our time. Central to this this year are seven key areas: Smart Manufacturing, Digital Ecosystems, Energy for Industry, Compressed Air & Vacuum Technology, Engineered Parts & Solutions, Future Hub and International Trade & Investment.

  • The theme Smart Manufacturing focuses on advanced manufacturing processes in which artificial intelligence (AI) and Industry 4.0 play a central role. In seven halls, international companies including Siemens, Bosch, Festo and Schneider Electric, their innovations in automation, robotics and smart manufacturing. The Industry 4.0 stage will offer keynotes and demonstrations of AI-driven manufacturing processes.
  • The theme Digital Ecosystems offers an in-depth look at the future of digitized manufacturing environments. More than 600 exhibitors, including Microsoft, Google Cloud and SAP, showcase the latest innovations in digital platforms and industrial AI applications. The Digital Transformation Conference Stage offers knowledge sessions, and cybersecurity gets extra attention with the Industrial Security Circus.
  • Another spearhead is renewable energy for industry. Under the title Energy for Industry the latest solutions for hydrogen technology, energy management and decarbonization will be presented, focusing on fuel cells and efficient energy storage, among others.
  • In addition to the previously mentioned themes, there are four other central topics: Compressed Air & Vacuum Technology, on advanced solutions for compressed air and vacuum technology; Engineered Parts & Solutions, focused on innovative components and materials for industrial applications; Future Hub, which provides a platform for startups, research and talent development; and International Trade & Investment, which focuses on global trade opportunities and international cooperation.

Must-see highlights: AI and digital transformation

Artificial intelligence is playing a key role in transforming industrial processes, with applications ranging from automation and data analytics to production optimization. At Hannover Messe, visitors can see AI-controlled robots in action that dynamically adapt to changing production environments, among other things.

Furthermore, with approximately 1,600 speakers, the conference program offers in-depth knowledge on current industry challenges. New are the Digital Transformation Conference Stage and special Master Classes, which offer practical insights into digital transformation.

Partner country 2025: Canada

Canada will be the official partner country of Hannover Messe in 2025. With more than 200 participating companies from sectors such as AI, cleantech, hydrogen and robotics, Canada plays an important role within the themes of digitalization and renewable energy in particular. The partnership strengthens ties between Europe and Canada and offers unique cooperation opportunities for companies looking for innovative solutions and sustainable partnerships.
