Getac Technology Corporation (Getac), a leading provider of rugged computers and mobile video solutions, today announced the launch of the new generation B360 and B360 Pro. These fully rugged laptops offer users in industries such as field service, utilities and defense two powerful and versatile solutions for working in the challenging conditions they face every day.

New generation AI-ready performance

The new generation B360 and B360 Pro laptops combine a fully rugged design with a number of innovative new technology enhancements. This includes the latest Intel® CoreTM Ultra Series 2 processors and Intel® AI Boost technology, which allows users to leverage on-device Edge AI, for fast and efficient task execution. During a recent text-to-report evaluation test of Getac products using Llama 3.1 8B, AI applications on the B360 were able to convert long texts into complete reports within seconds. This powerful Edge AI performance offers significant operational advantages over cloud AI, especially in situations requiring real-time processing, high levels of data security and privacy, offline capabilities and cost efficiency.

In addition, the new generation B360 and B360 Pro laptops feature several new I/O options, including up to two Thunderbolt™ 4 ports for lightning-fast data transfers. LifeSupport hot-swappable battery technology increases productivity by minimizing the need to charge the laptop mid-shift. WiFi 7 offers data speeds up to five times faster than WiFi 6 and up to 60% lower latency.

The B360 Pro comes standard with two powerful batteries. In addition, an optional NVIDIA Quadro RTX A500 4GB discrete graphics card offers enhanced graphics without sacrificing processing performance. The B360 Pro also has an optional combination drive, which can hold a third SSD (up to 6TB storage capacity), a third battery, a DVD drive or a Blu-ray drive.

The new generation B360 and B360 Pro laptops are available in a variety of sector-specific configurations and can be further customized with specific options* for hardware, software, accessories and service options. This allows devices to be fully tailored to each use case, even when ordering smaller numbers of laptops. Key applications include:

  Field professionals rely on Getac's rugged devices for secure data access, remote communication and information gathering to help them complete complex tasks quickly, no matter the circumstances. Businesses can customize the new generation of B360 laptops with specific software, hardware, accessories and service options* to optimize field professionals' productivity and meet operational goals. The B360 and B360 Pro laptops offer various authentication options, including a smart card reader, RFID and fingerprint reader, ensuring secure and seamless access to the device.
  
• Efficient mobile GIS, survey and mapping solutions for utilities
  The next-generation B360 laptop is ideal for mobile GIS, survey and mapping applications in remote areas or extreme weather conditions, thanks to MIL-STD-810H, MIL-STD-461G and IP66 certifications and drop resistance to 1.8 meters. An optional secure carrying case facilitates transportation, while software such as Getac Virtual GPS Utility provides a fast and reliable way to manage up to five GPS applications simultaneously. For added accuracy, the next-generation B360 laptop can be equipped with an optional high-precision GPS module and antenna.
  
• Secure and reliable command and control solutions for defense professionals
  In defense, commanders rely on Getac's rugged devices for real-time intelligence, military data integration and secure communications to make mission-critical decisions and counter threats. The new generation B360 Pro laptop offers standard extended battery life for uninterrupted use in the field, while an optional secure dock system can transform any vehicle into a mobile command center. In addition, the B360 Pro can be equipped with two PCMCIA readers* (one is included as standard), further extending the laptop's functionality without external adapters
