Great performance in compact size

Automation panels combine the functions of a PLC and an HMI in a single unit. They thus go a long way toward bringing down hardware and software costs for machine builders. The Automation PC 2200 and Panel PC 2200 are the latest additions to B&R's successful 2000 series of compact industrial PCs. Equipped with Intel Atom processors of the Apollo Lake generation, they offer a very powerful solution that is also available for mounting with a swing arm system.

The innovative design of the Automation PC 2200 and Panel PC 2200 with its dual- and quadcore processor technology represents a new milestone for embedded systems and that at excellent value for money. All variants operate without internal fans. And although they have added a considerable amount of computing power, they still fit into the same housing as their predecessors. The devices feature all major interfaces, including 2 x Gigabit Ethernet and 2 x USB 3.0. Additional interface modules can be provided to take advantage of the benefits of POWERLINK and CAN. Data storage is on compact CFast cards.

Complete PC systems

All second-generation Automation Panels, whether single or multitouch, can be transformed into full PC systems using the Automation PC 2200. Because it is no larger than the DVI Smart display Link receiver, it adds no additional physical depth to the system. By making the interfaces all accessible from one side of the Panel PC 2200, ease of use is assured. Image processing can be particularly powerful thanks to Core i technology in the Intel Atom processors. For the first time, direct support for DirectX 12 is also provided, offering even more opportunities for enhanced graphics capabilities in SCADA and other HMI systems. All resolutions and displays go up to 24" and support Full HD.

Open and real-time

Automation PC 2200 and Panel PC 2200 technology bridges the gap between open and real-time operating systems. Both Windows 10 IoT Enterprise and Linux are available. The real-time operating system Automation Runtime transforms an industrial PC into a full-featured industrial controller capable of very high performance. The hypervisor combines Automation runtime and Windows and unifies the open PC world with applications that demand hard real-time. Based on the multi-core processor architecture, the real-time operating system runs on one core while the others are reserved for Windows.

Available for swivel arm mounting

A wide range of Automation Panels are also available for swivel arm mounting. Indeed, the constant drive to make the control cabinet smaller increases the need for input stations that can be flexibly installed. The cables are installed through the swing arm system and then connected to an easily accessible area with IP65 protection. In this way, cheaper standard cables suffice. Customers opting for Smart Display Link 3 or 4, B&R's smart image transmission technology benefit from compact, cable-friendly RJ45 connectors, the perfect choice for routing cables through narrow spaces, such as in swing arms.

Innovative, intuitive, ergonomic interactions

The swing arm screens are available without push buttons under the screen and with push buttons. In the variants with push buttons, various combinations are possible. You can even choose your own combination of push buttons, switches, emergency stop and RFID. Multitouch technology opens up a whole dimension of possibilities for designing innovative interactions for tight, intuitively structured operation. Two-hand control, in turn, can ensure that the operator cannot make mistakes. The buttons, selection switches, key switches and integrated emergency stop switch provide exceptional ease of use. Alternatively, the Automation Panels are also available for mounting on a VEGA monitor. The optional swivel-tilt flange allows the panel to be adjusted to ensure an ergonomic viewing angle for comfortable fatigue-free use.
