Buildings and factories need energy, but power consumers such as heat pumps also increase the need for power. From small energy storage systems for domestic use and large storage systems to industrial hydrogen storage systems - with the WAGO Load Management Application, green power can be optimally utilized even when there is no wind or sunshine.
The amount of renewable and decentralized energy generated goes through peaks and troughs. Therefore, it is very important to utilize excess energy in the power grid for flexible loads. A variable load management solution is a must in this regard. Static load management is a possible solution that does not take into account additional consumers or generation facilities. For example, a capacity of 22 kilowatt hours is available for three charging stations. If only one electric car is charged at one of the three charging stations, this car can be charged with the full power of 22 kilowatt hours. When two vehicles are connected, this power is distributed evenly between both charging stations. Dynamic load management has the advantage that the power capacity is measured and distributed dynamically across the charging stations. The available total charging capacity of the charging station can be increased to make optimal use of the available power. The available power is no longer static, but variable.
A load management system for charging infrastructure, for example, offers the possibility of controlling the charging of electric vehicles and the power of multiple charging points in such a way that the existing grid connection can be used optimally. Without increasing the connection power or installing a new transformer at the grid connection point, this is ideally suited in places where there is no access to large power reserves.
For the energy sector, load management is necessary to ensure a stable energy supply. For e-mobility, this means providing the growing charging infrastructure with the additional power needed without overloading grid connection points. For this, generation, storage and consumption must be aligned. WAGO Application Load Management controls the energy flow and controls all consumers, storage systems and generation systems in the network.
